Deutsch connector for highly stressed environments

Deutsch products are available for purchase from TE Connectivity as semi-finished parts. Murrelektronik uses these products to turn them into Deutsch connectors.

A connector allows to connect and disconnect cables whenever necessary. Especially in an industrial environment this may be necessary. The distinguishing feature of a Deutsch connector is its high durability in all sorts of environments. Mobile hydraulics is a widely common field of application for this type of connector. Within industrial application protection against vibration and impact or shock are of high importance. Deutsch connectors with reliable locking mechanisms are available. These were previously developed for the car industry. The set-up of a Deutsch connector is developed specifically for durability in rough environmental conditions. Electric connections are protected against dirt and humidity by using seals.

Modular Deutsch Connector set-up

Deutsch connectors are set up in a modular concept. They can contain up to 155 plug positions. A plug position may be used by a crimped contact. In a Deutsch connector the contact is secured by a restraint spring. Special tools enable you to delete a contact from a Deutsch connector. The shape of a Deutsch plug in connector may be a circle or a rectangle. A wide range of connector faces with combinations of differently sized contacts is available. This ensures a wide range of different possible connection applications with individual contact assignments.

Connectors for Mobile Hydraulics

Some Deutsch connectors are set up for the installation of an LED that can show the status of the connection. The product range of the Deutsch connectors is split up into several groups. The set-up of a Deutsch connector for application in mobile hydraulics usually contains a plug with two poles as well as a locking mechanism. By overmolding the connection with a highly resistant material (PUR), the installation is simplified and high durability and resistance against environmental influence is ensured.

High Standard for Industrial Application

The IP67 standard requires proof against dust and touch. Protection against short time immersion is provided as well. This standard provides a high durability against environmental influences which are typical for industrial application when installing in the field. Deutsch connectors that are set up according to the IP67 standard are available to purchase. Deutsch connectors for mobile hydraulics with two cores (0.75mm² profile each) are available.
