Blind plug for feedthroughs and end of a Line

Tolead cables and lines through sheets or housings brav throughs in different forms and sizes are necessary. The edges of such break throughs can present certain risks. Those edges may be sharp or have ridges. The danger of such must not be disregarded when handling machinery and plants. During installation cables and lines may be damaged. These damages may create short circuits or malfunction of machinery and plants. It presents danger to personell responsible for installation as well as operators. By using a blind plug this danger may be eliminated. Each application requires a specific blind plug size. You may seal rectangular, oval or round break throughs.

Blind plug Standards

Blind plugs are available for standardized connectors. For M12 connectors a blind plug standardis available to properly seal a line which is currently not being used. ISO 4144 contains a blind plug standard for metal seals with a thread and hexagon to screw into a line. DIN 908 is the corresponding blind plug standard. Closing screws may be used with or without a seal. Another blind plug standard is available for protection agains explosion. Several products adhering to this standard are available. Closing screws applying the ATEX standards are available as well.

Blind plug sizes

The sizes of a blind plug depends on its application. Break throughs pre made for cables with plugs require a differently sized blind plug than feedthroughs of open end lines. The number and profile of the lines to be fed through determine the size of the blind plug. The size of a blind plug used to close of a line is determined by the profile of the line.
